The Quest for Game - Part 3

The Quest for Game - Part 3

So here it is. The raptor is pretty much done for right now. I', not going to do the inside of the mouth until I have time to rig this thing for an animator friend. So the raptor will sits at 8740 tris until the mouth, teeth, and tongue are added in which will bump it up to 10k. I have a screen cap below to showing the mouth.

The Quest for Game - Part 2!

The Quest for Game - Part 2!

So! here is the first go after I sorta figured out how to do this normal/diffuse out of Zbrush. There are a few wonky things going on with the diffuse with some parts of the poly paint not showing up in the right spots. The normal is more or less fine bust has some artifacts around the seems that I need to clean up.

The low poly is sitting at 11868 + 196 tris for the eyes that are in progress.
31 UV islands
Maps are 2048x2048

Just found out this issue with my diffuse as I was pulling the uv's for this post. The uv's the diffuse was baked to were slightly out of place. Causing the color mismatch. So I've got some stuff to fix in the morning before I move onto rendering the raptor pretty like / my next project.

Morning checklist:
  • Texture Eyes
  • Solve Diffuse UVs issue
  • Normal Seams
  • Specular/Gloss Map
  • Render Pretty like

These were rendered in marmoset.

Guns and Raptors

Guns and Raptors

I'm working on getting more stuff rendered out. My FAMAS and raptor are the first on the block. The famas has got a turn around. While the raptor got a diffuse and a perspective render.

Sketch Book Day 2-6 - Perspective Practice

Sketch Book Day 2-6 - Perspective Practice

Dropped by my friends art class and had a chat with the teacher. I got a little daily warmup to follow. As well as a wooden cube who is now named "Theodore." The art teacher told me to draw it a few times a day in different angles and prospective (1, 2, 3 point). Doing it sort of technically and then more estimation.
The teacher gave me some good advice about the perspective points I was using. He said that putting the prospective points closer together gave more of a fish-eye prospective while spreading them out gave a more orthographic sort of look. (He corrected my 3 point on the first page.)
So I've been trying to get a feel for what sort of camera lens I create when I do this perspective practice with the cube. I've been practicing in my sketch book and in Photoshop. Though, I did sort of slack off for a day or two and play magic with my roomies.
