Poses from Imagination Feb 16

Was trying to draw poses from my head. Half way through I realized I couldn't draw a circle on my tablet... like at all. I kept getting slanted ovals! moved the tablet farther to my drawing hands side, didn't work. Switched ghosting directions, didn't work. Moved the tablet to my lap, didn't work! Was trying to hit a circle, erasing then trying again, and again. kinda lost sight of my goal. Wasted my drawing time for the day on that.

I think If I have time today I will actually get up and act out poses to see if I can capture the feeling of it on digital paper.

Bus Sketches Feb 12-15

So I've been pretty busy with midterms and all. Not a lot of time to draw, but try to fit it in when I can.

The more I practice the more I feel I need to start drawing from imagination a Lot more. My drawings from reference are getting stronger and faster, but my ones from imagination still feel like I haven't internalized any of the structures I look at on the day to day to a sufficient degree to draw without a guiding image. I feel lost when I draw from my head.

Here are some sketches from the bus. Trying to exercise my brain and come up with poses that feel like they could work if I put meat on them.

SO in my effort to stop avoiding drawing the face I'm working on eyes. I plan to work piece by piece and start putting them one by one together as I get comfortable drawing them.

A little tough to find the time during midterms though.

Yes for some reason bus sketching is a whole other category of sketching. Shits tough, its bumpy,  jerky and cramped. Started doing it in pen to add an exchange skull to the difficulty.

Flippen, was sitting in front of the heater getting ready to pass out, when I looked up at my monitor and saw an image. The urge to draw welled up from within me. My plan of having a cycling desktop of images that make me want to draw is backfiring.

I have trouble Identifying planes on the body so I did one reference, and one imagination drawing sort of focusing on that concept.

Late night celebratory sketching - Jan 31

Just finished my programing homework after passing out from stress yesterday (Jan 30) and waking up to find the teacher gave an time extension. SO I was able to clear up all my code bugs ^^. Hopefully I get a good grade ya?

Anyway after I finished I watched some youtube videos to defrag, and when I could feel my brain again I did a few sketches in pen, it was the closest drawing utensil.

Now for sleep -_-

More Bus Sketching - Jan 28-30 + Some Others

Seems like I only have time to draw on the bus, and well right now as I take a short break from homework. But this time is for posting! So here is today's bus sketch, this is from my head and comes with some quick little process sketches.

Jan 28-29th bus sketches, Jan 27th figure sketch is in there too hah. More out of my head. Once I get done with this programming assignment I'm going to do more drawings from reference.

I realized today after looking at my blog, I spend like 99% of my time looking at people/images and 1% actually drawing. As every drawing on my blog is every time my pencil hand touched paper. That is a really small amount of drawings for a period of 43 days (Dec 19 2013 to today). But strangely I feel like I'm getting significantly better every day. One day I will rival Feng Zhu!! Bwhahaha.

Found some doodles while I was looking for some white paper to draw on. I am doing my best to post up anything that involves drawing, so I can kinda keep try of myself. So up they go!
